A second period goal by the Panthers was disallowed after being missed by the officiating crew. Despite dominating the third period, the Panthers couldn't manage to break the tie.
Game 3: Wednesday, 12-20-17 vs. Dedham
The Panthers beat a hard hitting Dedham team 3-1 by scoring 2 goals in the third period. A wraparound goal from Freshman Kevin Balewicz started off the scoring. The Panthers opened the third period on the power play and Senior Captain Jack Larch banged home the rebound of a Jake Kober blast from the point. Sophomore Brendan Geary scored on another rebound to round out the scoring. The Panthers held on to their lead despite Dedham pulling the goalie and putting on the pressure. Freshman Nico Quatromoni made some spectacular saves to seal the victory. Panthers remain undefeated at 2-0-1.

They were behind 3-2 after two periods on goals by Sophomore Cooper DeCristofaro and Senior captain Jack Wilkie. The Panthers broke out in the third on goals by Sophomore Sam Farrel, Cooper DeCristofaro who had a hat trick, Senior captain James Franco (open net), and Freshman Christian Schneeloch with a blast from the point late in the period to get his first Varsity goal. The Panthers are now 4-1-1 with 9 points and a week off before they face a tough Hopkinton team. Happy New Year!
Game 7: Wednesday, 1-3-18 at 7:40 PM vs. Hopkinton
The Panthers stunned a talented and undefeated Hopkinton team with a 3-1 win on Wednesday night. The Panthers gave up a quick goal on Hopkinton's first shot of the game before Freshman goalie Nico Quatromoni slammed the door shut. An aggressive forecheck and solid defense kept the Hillers off balance while spectacular goaltending from Quatromoni kept them from scoring again. Captain Jack Larche tied the game on a turn around slap shot from 20 feet out that hit the Hillers goalie on his mask and bounced over his shoulder and in. Senior Jake Kober scored the game winner after a scrum in the crease that the Hillers failed to contain. The Hillers had plenty of chances with a few odd-man rushes, hitting the post on several occasions and shooting wildly over the net. Quatromoni made several highlight reel saves late in the game while the Panthers killed back to back penalties. Captain James Franco scored on an open net to hand Hopkinton it's first loss of the season. The Panthers are now 5-1-1 and in second place in the TVL, two points behind their next opponent, Medfield.
Game 8: Saturday, 1-6-18 at 8:30 PM vs. Medfield
The Panthers defeated a speedy and skilled Medfield team 3-2 to take over first place in the Tri-Valley League with a League record of 4-0-1. Technically they are tied with 9 points each but Medfield has played 2 more league games than the Panthers. Captain Jack Larche started the scoring on the power play by banging home a rebound off a shot by Sophomore Cooper DeCristofaro. DeCristofaro then scored unassisted off a faceoff to make it 2-0 where the score remained into the third period. The Panthers, who only managed 8 shots through 2 periods, kept Medfield at bay with solid team defense and another stellar performance in net from Nico Quatromoni who faced 48 shots on the night. Medfield came out strong in the third and scored 2 quick goals to tie the game before Cooper DeCristofaro scored his second goal on a power play to give the Panthers the victory. A late flurry by Medfield fell short propelling the Panthers into first place. The Panthers are now 6-1-1 overall with 13 points and face Norton next who are 2-4-2 overall and are 1-3-2 in the TVL.
Game 9: Wednesday, 1-10-18 at 6 PM vs. Norton
The Panthers eeked out a win against Norton 2-1. The Panthers came out flying in the first and dominated in the Norton end for most of the period but couldn't manage to score on the Lancers goalie who played very well. Norton only had a couple shots in the first but fared better as the game went on. The Panthers were a little flat in the second and both teams had good chances but the game remained scoreless going into the third period. The Panthers picked it up a notch in the third and struck first when Cam DeCristofaro tipped in a shot from the point to make it 1-0. Norton tied the game a minute or so later scoring on a rebound shot from the slot. Sam Farrell tipped in another shot from the point with less than five minutes left to put the Panthers ahead for good. Norton had a power play later in the period but the Panthers PK was up to the task. Goalie Nico Quatromoni made some excellent saves turning back nineteen shots by the Lancers. The Panthers remain unbeaten in the TVL at 5-0-1 and are 7-1-1 overall with 15 points. They will face Dover-Sherborn next at home on Saturday night.
Game 10: Saturday, 1-13-18 at 5:50 PM vs. Dover-Sherborn
The Panthers continued their TVL unbeaten streak with a 2-0 win over Dover-Sherborn on Saturday night advancing their record to a TVL best 6-0-1 (8-1-1 over all). Freshman goaltender Nico Quatromoni notched his first shutout of the season giving the Panthers a TVL leading goals against of 9. Both Panther goals were scored by Sophomore Cooper DeCristofaro. The Panthers continued to play solid defense behind Seniors Jack Wilkie, Tim Ringie, Will Fitzgerald and Jake Kober but they will need to remain strong when they face a tough Medway team on Wednesday. Medway is 3-2 in the TVL and 6-4 overall.
Game 11: Wednesday, 1-17-18 at 3:50 PM vs. Medway
The Panthers struggled to generate scoring chances in a 3-0 loss to a fast and skilled D2 Medway team. Medway took a page out of the Panthers playbook and overwhelmed them with a strong fore-checking game and good team defense. The Panthers looked a little flat at times and struggled to break the puck out of their own end. When they did break out, Medway dominated the neutral zone and limited the Panthers offense to 20 shots on net. Despite 2 third period power plays, the Panthers couldn't find the back of the net. Goalie Nico Quatromoni faced 41 shots in the Panthers first TVL loss of the season. The Panthers are now 6-2-1 in the TVL (8-2-1 overall) and tied with Hopkinton for first place with 13 points. Next up is Bellingham and the Panthers will be looking to get back on the winning track, needing just 3 points to make it to the Tournament.
Game 12: Saturday, 1-20-18 at 6 PM vs. Bellingham
The Panthers defeated a struggling Bellingham team 7-1 Saturday night. With the score 2-1 after the first period, the Panthers broke the game open in the second scoring 4 goals on a 5 minute major boarding penalty to Bellingham. The Panthers killed off their own 5 minute major later in the game limiting Bellingham to just 2 shots on the power play. Goals were scored by 7 different players with the highlight coming in the third when Freshman blueliner Mike Ringie scored his first Varsity goal off a feed from his brother, Senior Captain Tim Ringie. The Panthers face Ashland next who always manages to play tough and make the Panthers work extra hard. With 19 points, the Panthers are tied with Hopkinton for 2nd place in the TVL, 1 point behind league leading Medfield.
Game 13: Wednesday, 1-24-18 at 3:50 PM vs. Ashland
The Panthers won Wednesday beating Ashland 4-1 garnering themselves a spot in the post season Tournament with 21 points with 7 games to go. The Panthers were in command early off a goal by Senior Jake Kober who scored about 1:30 into the game beating Ashland goalie Mike Lowd on a slap shot that went five hole. Additional goals were scored by Sophomore Jackson Goughan, Senior Captain Jack Wilkie and Freshman Christian Schneeloch. It wasn't their best effort of the season by far but they managed to neutralize any threats by Ashland until late in the third when Ashland finally got on the board. The Panthers brought their record to 8-1-1 in the TVL (10-2-1 overall) and remain tied for first place with Hopkinton. Next up is Dedham.
Game 14: Saturday, 1-27-18 at 8:30 PM vs. Dedham
The Panthers defeated Dedham in a lackluster effort on Saturday night 2-1. The Panthers led 2-0 on goals by Senior James Franco and Freshman Christian Schneeloch for most of the game but let Dedham get on the board in the third period. They managed to hold on for the win and are now alone in first place with a TVL record of 9-1-1 (11-2-1 overall). They need to be sharp with a tough stretch of games ahead, facing D2 teams Westwood and Medfield and a rematch against Hopkinton. First up is Westwood.
Game 15: Wednesday, 1-31-18 at 7:30 PM vs. Westwood
The Panthers lost to Westwood 2-0 in a physical game where the officiating, unfortunately, had a direct impact on the outcome of the game. Between the high hits, tripping and leg checks that went unaddressed all game, it was a game we'd rather just forget and move on to an opponent that actually wants to play hockey. Next up is Hopkinton who will be looking to avenge their 3-1 loss to the Panthers back in game 7.
Game 16: Saturday, 2-3-18 at 6:40 PM vs. Hopkinton
The Panthers lost to Hopkinton 3-0. Not a lot of scoring chances for the Panthers the last few games but they need to turn that around when they face Medfield for the last time this season. Hopkinton is alone in first place in the TVL with 21 pts. with Medfield and Holliston right behind with 20 and 19 points each. The Panthers face Medfield Wednesday.
Game 17: Wednesday, 2-7-18 at 4:50 PM vs. Medfield **Postponed**
